“Cars 3” (2017) was originally conceived by John Lasseter while he was serving Pixar Animation Studios as chief creative officer (CCO), before assuming duties as director of “Toy Story 4” (2019). The film was produced by Kevin Reher, who also produced Lasseter's “Inside Out” (2015). “Cars 3” (2017) was directed by Brian Fee, a character animator for “The Incredibles” (2004) and the television series “Futurama.”
